St Thomas’s CE Primary School offers high quality provision for children of 3-11 years.

Children can join our Nursery at the start of the term after their 3rd birthday. Free nursery education sessions are provided for children aged 3-4 years. We offer both 15 hour and 30 hour sessions (for those who qualify, please see below).

We work hard to ensure that your child settles well, is happy, makes progress and enjoys their learning here with us at St Thomas’s. We provide a calm, nurturing and motivating environment with a curriculum filled with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences.

We pride ourselves on providing a well planned and organised play based curriculum where children are supported to develop their independence, make choices and to learn skills and gain knowledge to help them succeed on their learning journey throughout school.

We follow the statutory government EYFS guidance and plan our curriculum provision from this including the use of high quality texts and themes which interest the children.

We actively encourage and support parents and carers to be a partner in their child’s learning and development. We are able to provide you with digital access to your child’s learning journey. You can view photographs, videos and notes of your child engaged in their learning through Tapestry. We have found that parents really value the app as it is a lovely way to see your child’s learning first hand.

St Thomas’s Nursery plays an active part within the whole school community. This ensures when children finish their time in Nursery, they have the most well planned and smooth transition to Reception.

We offer wrap around care (breakfast and after school club). For more information, please view our Larks and Owls Policy.

While we can give you an overview of our Nursery on our website, there’s nothing like coming to see us yourself! We do welcome visitors and are always happy to let you come and find about all we have to offer. Please contact us by phone 01539 737373 or email to make an appointment.
