Physical Education

At St Thomas’s, we believe that physical activity not only improves health, reduces stress and improves concentration, but also promotes correct physical growth and development.  Exercise has a positive influence on academic achievement, emotional stability and interaction with others.

Through sport and other physical activities, our children will learn about their responsibilities both as individuals and members of groups and teams. They learn to cooperate and to compete fairly, understanding their own and other’s roles.

We are thrilled to hold the prestigious School Games Platinum Award.

Competitions and Festivals

We enter a number of both competitive and non – competietive sports events throughout the year. Cross country competitions, dodgeball festivals and dance showcases allow our pupils to excel outside of the classroom.

Competition is taken seriously, and our children participate regularly in regional and national competitions. Throughout St Thomas’s past, we have had sporting success stories such as swimmers winning galas and cross country runners competing at national level.
